Built In’s Job Board
The Job Board started as a small ticket to add new functionality to the search & filter feature of the Job Board tool. After conducting a sprint zero, our team found the logic and usability for users needed improvement.
This project was composed of an 8-week sprint including: the evolution of the tool, competitive research, internal + external user-testing, user data, stakeholder buy-in, wire-framing, design, prototyping to a final design-developer handoff. The design was delivered on-time and is considered a successful improvement for the company and website.

Process
Our initial hypothesis:
If we rearrange our order from filter > search to search > filter; authenticated users will find relevant jobs faster.
Our concluding hypothesis:
If we maintain our filter > search approach, but give users additional filtering options, reorganized layout and keyword search functionality, then unauthenticated users will find relevant jobs faster.

The solution
In order to ship our MVP, knowing that we have future version features to implement quickly, we decided to keep the same filters and categories, reorganize them in a more intuitive flow and design for future states knowing we’ll need to grow for enterprise-scale jobs in the near future—all decisions backed by user testing and research.
